The original design and the drawings for it are also dealt with in It.For. desfated. The clock tower formed no part of the original design introduced for the building. Many changes have been preferred when the foundations were being constructed. The only connection with the clock tower with regard to which I had consultation with Messrs Webb & Bell, was the preliminary sketches, which, at the request of Sir M. Nathan, were submitted to Messrs Webb & Squires. These showed merely the architectural features and no detail.
